The owners of Carpe Diem Guesthouse in Provincetown, MA were so happy with the branding and website we designed for them 5 years ago, that they came back to us to update the site and add more functionality. This time around, the challenge was not only to create a new look that works with the existing brand, but to design a responsive website offering a higher level of interaction, intuitive navigation, and simplicity than we have ever achieved before.

Our list of must haves: large photos, minimal clicking, simple navigation across every device, and each of the three main areas defined with its own look. We created a simple main nav of three colored squares and integrated them into every page along with a link for reservations. To minimize clicking and re-loading of photos on mobile devices, we designed scrolling pages from top to bottom and side to side, which allows visitors to view the most photos and information at one time. And finally, every page allows extra room for longer text when viewing the site in French or German.

Note: In 2015, Carpe Diem was sold. The original owners now own a B&B in Liguria, Italy.
